60 today

I never in my wildest nightmares ever thought I would be drinking champagne alone on my 60th birthday.  I suppose with the government changes 60th aren't special anymore.  You now retire later and later and I have to work now until I am 64 before I can retire.
I did get a beautiful Mackintosh mirror from my daughter who spent a couple of hours with me this morning.  I feel so sad and should be celebrating.  I will be glad when today is over.

Happy Birthday! I read the other day that it's a good idea to comment on blogs that need them. You need a good ol blog hug!

I am sorry that you had to have your birthday alone. But age is relative, if you have decent health & a roof & food & something that makes you want to get up in the morning.
I recently had my 70th. ouch that sounds SO old! But "they" say that 70 is the "new 50" so I am trying to look at it that way.
I can testify from the past decade that there is life after 60!

We are blessed to have you with us, consider the alternative. I hope you find joy and make it a beautiful day despite your feelings in this moment.
